The Italian Society is honoured to announce that Carlo De Benedetti, the world renowned industrialist has accepted to give a lecture at the LSE on May 18th at 6pm in the New Theatre, [E171] at the LSE.
The title of the lecture is: "Europe at a crossroads: the difficulty of staying together in times of economic crisis". It will be held in English.
Carlo De Benedetti is an Italian industrialist and entrepreneur. He was appointed CEO of Fiat for a short period in 1976 but then aquired the CIR Group. He then became CEO of the Italian manufacturer Olivetti and in 1995 founded telecommunications companies Omnitel and Infostrada, which is now worth more than US$13 billion. He is also the current President of "Gruppo Espresso".
Please bear in mind that seats will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so come early to avoid disappointment.

The Italian Society, an inclusive group of both Italians and non-Italians, is aimed at promoting Italian culture on campus and raising awareness of political, cultural and economic issues concerning Italy and Europe. The society offers guest speakers and events, Italian language classes and cultural festivities throughout the year to celebrate Italian heritage.
Questa Societa' e' dedicata a tutti gli studenti, i ricercatori ed i professori della London School of Economics and Political Science di nazionalita' italiana o, semplicemente, interessati all'Italia. Durante l'anno accademico 2008/2009 continueremo come di consueto ad organizzare eventi ed iniziative per sensibilizzare i nostri colleghi dell'LSE riguardo il nostro Paese preferito!
